Call For Papers and Preliminary Information

The Program Committee is now issuing a call for papers on a wide range of international economic issues. Possible topics for session titles and papers include the following:

  • ・Plenary session: Emerging economies and the outlook for the world economy: Trade, finance, and development

 

  • ・Concurrent sessions:

 (1) International trade theory
 (2) Empirical international trade
 (3) International finance, international macroeconomics
 (4) Development economics
 (5) Direct investment, multinational enterprises
 (6) Asian economies
 (7) Economies in other regions
 (8) International trade regime, WTO, FTAs
 (9) Environment, resources, energy
 (10) International political economy
 (11) Other

  • ・Poster session

 

PAPER SUBMISSION

Authors who wish to present a paper at the meeting should submit an application form and an abstract of the proposed paper of approximately 200 words in English (or not exceeding 1,000 characters in Japanese) to the Local Committee by May 23, 2015.

In addition, please indicate the session you think your paper would be appropriate for and provide three keywords for your paper. If you are a graduate student and wish to present a paper in the plenary session or one of the concurrent sessions, please provide the name of a referee.

Presenters at the poster session will be invited to make a one-minute flash talk with one slide.

SELECTION

The Program Committee will use the abstracts of proposed papers to evaluate applications to present a paper at the meeting. Authors will be informed of the results of this evaluation by the end of June 2015.

 

FULL PAPER SUBMISSION

The deadline for the submission of full papers selected for presentation is September 26, 2015. Papers should be submitted by email to the Local Committee and the assigned discussant and the chairman of the session. One-page abstracts should also be submitted at the same time. Submitted papers and abstracts will be uploaded to the Annual Meeting website.

 

POSTER SESSION AND FLASH TALKS

Poster session presenters can use one A0-size space (84 cm horizontal by 119 cm vertical) and post the outline of the paper within the space. Pins and adhesive tape will be available on the poster session floor. Presenters can distribute a handout or the full paper at their own expense. While presenters can bring their own computers, there will be no power supply on the floor.

All poster session presenters will make a one-minute flash talk before the poster session. For the flash talk, presenters should prepare one slide and briefly explain the main point and/or contribution of the paper. The one slide for the flash talk should be submitted to the Local Committee in PDF format by November 1, 2015. The file name should be the presenter’s name (e.g., Kokusai_Taro.pdf).
